Job Title: Family Law Attorney

Job Overview: A respected law firm based in Raleigh, NC is seeking a dedicated Family Law Attorney to represent clients in various family law matters, including divorce, child custody, alimony, and prenuptial agreements. The ideal candidate will possess strong advocacy and negotiation skills, particularly in high-stress, emotionally charged situations, and will be passionate about helping clients navigate sensitive and complex legal issues. This position offers an opportunity to work closely with senior partners and paralegals to deliver strategic legal solutions.

Duties:

  • Collaborate with senior partners and paralegals to expedite the civil litigation process.
  • Represent clients in family law cases, attending court proceedings as needed.
  • Draft and prepare legal documents such as pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, judgments, and orders.
  • Provide legal advice and develop strategic plans tailored to client needs in family law matters.
  • Organize and maintain client files, ensuring accuracy and up-to-date information.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience working in a law firm, focusing on family law cases.
  • Familiarity with real estate law, particularly about determining marital property.
  • Experience in handling sensitive cases involving child custody, child abuse, domestic violence, and divorce.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, especially in emotionally charged or stressful situations.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active member of the American Bar Association (ABA).

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the state of North Carolina.
  • An additional consideration for those with a background in criminal justice.

Skills:

  • Strong advocacy and litigation skills.
  • Ability to manage both plaintiff and defendant cases effectively.
