General Liability Associate Attorney

A law firm in Philadelphia, PA is seeking a General Liability Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional writing, research, and litigation skills and will have the opportunity to work directly with a highly experienced and dynamic group of attorneys and staff members. The role involves handling a diverse caseload of general liability claims, conducting legal research, and representing clients in various legal settings.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct file reviews and legal analysis of claims and causes of action.
• Perform extensive legal research and draft substantial briefs, memos, pleadings, and appellate briefs.
• Represent clients in court, at arbitrations, and in depositions.
• Draft and respond to discovery requests.
• Manage expert witness retention and collaboration.
• Prepare for and attend trials, including trial preparation.
• Participate in negotiations and mediations.
• Handle civil cases from inception through resolution, including taking and defending depositions (including 30(b)(6) and expert depositions), drafting and arguing substantive motions, and attending hearings and trials.
• Travel as required for court appearances, depositions, and other legal proceedings.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-approved law school.
• Admitted to practice in the state of New Jersey and Pennsylvania; admission in other states is a plus.
• 3+ years of civil litigation experience with a focus on Construction, Product Liability, Premises Liability, or Auto.
• Ability to meet an annual billable requirement of 1950 hours.
• Strong experience in handling civil cases from beginning to end.
