Job Overview:
A prominent law firm, located in Washington, DC, is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Insurance Coverage Associate Attorney to join its dynamic team. This is a full-time, partnership-track position for a candidate with a solid background in insurance coverage law and litigation, specifically in representing policyholders or insurers. The firm is looking for an individual with a passion for client service, strong leadership qualities, and the ability to manage complex legal matters involving first- and third-party insurance policies.

Duties:

• Provide legal counsel and representation on insurance coverage disputes, including first- and third-party claims
• Conduct legal research and prepare comprehensive written analyses of insurance policies
• Draft and review pleadings, motions, and other legal documents
• Manage all phases of litigation, including discovery, depositions, hearings, and trials
• Work closely with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored legal solutions
• Collaborate with a team of attorneys and other legal professionals to ensure high-quality work and client satisfaction
• Handle a mix of complex cases while demonstrating initiative and leadership in managing client matters
• Participate in pro bono legal services, contributing to the firm’s commitment to community outreach
• Stay updated with the latest trends and developments in insurance law

Requirements:

• 2-5 years of experience in insurance coverage law, with a focus on policyholder or insurer representation
• Strong litigation background with experience handling insurance disputes
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to analyze complex insurance policies and apply relevant legal principles
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Admission to the Bar in Washington, DC, or willingness to obtain within one year of employment

Skills:

• Comprehensive knowledge of insurance law and policy interpretation
• Strong legal research and writing abilities
• Litigation experience, including drafting legal documents and managing cases from start to finish
• Client-focused mindset with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships
• Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and clients
