A law firm seeks an experienced Labor & Employment Attorney to join a dynamic legal team in North Hollywood, CA. The role offers an exciting opportunity to engage with complex cases that shape workplace rights, employee relations, and organizational compliance. The ideal candidate will provide expert legal counsel on employer-employee issues, ranging from policy formation and employee discipline to labor negotiations and client defense before various public agencies.

Duties:

  • Advise employers on labor and employment matters, including compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Guide employee discipline, terminations, and other workplace disputes.
  • Assist in the development of workplace policies and ensure they align with evolving laws and regulations.
  • Represent clients before public agencies, such as the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH), Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), Public Employment Relations Board (PERB), and Division of Labor Standards Enforcement (DLSE).
  • Negotiate labor contracts and resolve disputes through mediation, arbitration, or litigation.
  • Draft and review employment-related documents, including contracts, policies, and handbooks.
  • Stay up to date on changes in labor and employment law to provide accurate and timely legal advice.

Requirements:

  • Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.
  • A background in labor and employment law is preferred, though all levels of experience will be considered.
  • Experience in advising clients on workplace compliance and employee relations is advantageous.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion and professionalism.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership with the California State Bar.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of labor and employment law, including federal and state regulations.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with clients in both advisory and litigious capacities.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and clients in a fast-paced environment.
