Job Overview: A law firm specializing in corporate law seeks a Mid-level Life Sciences / Healthcare Compliance and Investigations Associate Attorney to join its dynamic team in New York City. The ideal candidate will have 3-6 years of experience in government-facing life sciences and healthcare investigations, with a strong background in U.S. healthcare compliance and counseling. Experience in regulatory affairs, medical devices, and research and development (R&D) is highly desirable. This role requires exceptional academic credentials, prior law firm experience, and active New York State Bar admission.

Duties:

  • Conducting and managing healthcare fraud and abuse investigations, including False Claims Act matters.
  • Advising life sciences and healthcare clients on federal and state regulations compliance.
  • Drafting and negotiating agreements pertaining to healthcare transactions and regulatory matters.
  • Collaborating with internal teams and clients to develop compliance strategies and programs.
  • Providing legal counsel on FDA regulatory submissions, approvals, and compliance.

Requirements:

  • 3-6 years of significant experience in government-facing life sciences/healthcare investigations or U.S. healthcare compliance and counseling.
  • Preferably, additional experience in regulatory affairs, medical devices, and R&D.
  • Familiarity with global compliance issues, including FCPA, is advantageous.
  • Excellent academic credentials from a top-tier law school.
  • Admitted to practice law and in good standing in New York.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the New York State Bar is required; admission to other state Bars is a plus.
  • Any certifications related to healthcare compliance or investigations are beneficial.

  • Ability to manage complex legal matters independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficiency in drafting legal documents and agreements.
