Job Overview:
A reputable law firm in Atlanta is looking for an Associate Attorney to join its general litigation team. This position requires 2+ years of litigation experience, with a focus on medical malpractice preferred, but not required. Duties:

  • Handle a variety of general litigation cases
  • Manage all phases of litigation, including discovery, depositions, motion practice, and trial preparation

  • Draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on complex litigation issues
  • Represent clients in court hearings and trials
  • Assist with medical malpractice cases, if applicable
  • Maintain case files and meet deadlines for all assigned matters

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of litigation experience
  • Experience or interest in medical malpractice preferred
  • Strong academic credentials from an accredited law school
  • Proven hands-on litigation experience
  • Ability to work independently and handle increasing levels of responsibility
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Admission to the State Bar (Georgia Bar preferred)

Skills:

  • Strong courtroom and deposition skills
  • Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously
