Job Overview:

A prominent law firm is seeking a Commercial Finance Associate Attorney with 2-5 years of experience to work on multifamily housing transactions across the United States. The role involves representing investors and developers in complex commercial real estate transactions, with a focus on affordable housing and community development. Experience with low-income housing tax credits, historic rehabilitation tax credits, and federal subsidy programs is advantageous.

Location:

  • Denver, CO

Duties:

  • Represent clients in multifamily housing transactions, including those utilizing tax credits and federal subsidy programs
  • Handle complex commercial real estate transactions, including tax-exempt bond financings and HUD-insured financings
  • Advise on affordable housing development and community projects
  • Draft and review transactional documents related to real estate financing and development
  • Collaborate with team members on transactions involving low-income housing tax credits and historic rehabilitation tax credits
  • Engage with clients on the structuring of partnerships and joint ventures, particularly in tax credit and subsidy programs
  • Maintain a strong organizational approach to managing multiple complex transactions simultaneously

Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of experience in commercial real estate transactions, preferably in affordable housing or community development
  • Familiarity with low-income housing tax credits, historic rehabilitation tax credits, and federal subsidy programs is a plus
  • Experience with tax-exempt bond financings, HUD, and Agency financings is advantageous
  • Strong interest in affordable housing and community development

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active bar membership in good standing in the relevant jurisdiction(s)

Skills:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage complex transactions
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new areas of commercial finance and real estate
  • Demonstrated interest in affordable housing and community development
