Litigation Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm in Atlanta, GA, is seeking a skilled Litigation Attorney to manage and lead a variety of litigation cases, primarily focusing on personal injury cases involving commercial motor vehicles. The ideal candidate will possess strong litigation experience, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to achieving successful case outcomes.

Job Duties:

• Handle and manage files from signup through trial, including pre-litigation and litigation phases.
• Conduct a thorough workup of pre-litigation files, engaging in pre-suit negotiations as necessary.
• Manage litigation files, including drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, and preparing for depositions and trials.
• Regularly interact with clients, adjusters, staff, and other lawyers via phone and in-person meetings.
• Lead and supervise a litigation team of 5 or more individuals, ensuring efficient case management and support.
• Lead a pre-litigation team of 2-3 members, providing guidance and oversight.
• Successfully litigate cases from inception to conclusion, demonstrating a solid work ethic and attention to detail.
• Collaborate effectively within a team environment, fostering a cohesive working atmosphere.
• Supervise and manage other team members, providing mentorship and support as needed.

Requirements:

• Admission to some or all Georgia federal courts.
• 5-10 years of litigation experience, preferably in personal injury law.
• Experience in pre-litigation case management and negotiation.
• Specific experience with cases involving commercial motor vehicles is highly preferred.
• Willingness to expand trial skills and knowledge to obtain board certification in truck accident law.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining accountability within a team structure.
• 3 years of personal injury litigation experience, with trial experience preferred.
• Experience with commercial cases is a plus, particularly in trucking and other commercial motor vehicle litigation.
• Graduate of an ABA-accredited law school.
• Current member of the Georgia Bar in good standing.

Education and Certifications:

• JD degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active membership in the Georgia Bar, with good standing required.
