A law firm in Albany is seeking a Torts and Products Liability Associate Attorney with a minimum of 2 years of litigation experience. The ideal candidate must be licensed to practice in New York State, possess superior verbal, writing, and interpersonal skills, and demonstrate the ability to work directly with clients, developing and executing service strategies. The role will primarily involve handling the defense of product liability, personal injury, and professional malpractice actions in both New York State and federal courts.

 

Duties:

  • Defend clients in product liability, personal injury, and professional malpractice actions.
  • Represent clients in New York State and federal courts.
  • Work directly with clients to develop and execute service strategies.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategies.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
  • Attend hearings, depositions, and negotiations.
  • Manage and oversee all aspects of assigned cases, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and opposing parties.
  • Develop persuasive legal briefs and memoranda.
  • Uphold high levels of professionalism and ethical standards in all interactions.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice law in New York State.
  • 2+ years of litigation experience, preferably in torts.
  • Superior verbal, writing, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated abilities to work directly with clients.
  • Experience in New York State and federal courts handling defense actions in product liability, personal injury, and professional malpractice.
