Job Overview:
A law firm seeks a dedicated and ambitious Entry-Level Immigration Attorney to join its growing legal team in Los Angeles, CA. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in immigration law while working alongside seasoned legal professionals. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing a caseload, engaging with clients, and collaborating with a dynamic team to deliver high-quality legal services in immigration matters.

Duties:

  • Advise clients on immigration procedures, policies, and strategic solutions tailored to their needs.

  • Represent both detained and non-detained individuals in removal proceedings before Immigration Courts and the Board of Immigration Appeals.

  • Conduct legal research, prepare briefs, and draft motions to support clients' immigration cases.

  • Manage a diverse caseload of immigration matters efficiently and effectively.

  • Conduct intake interviews and client consultations to assess case viability and develop legal strategies.

  • Prepare, review, and file various immigration applications, including family-based petitions and removal defense cases.

  • Visit detention centers to meet with clients and provide legal counsel.

  • Advocate for clients by collaborating with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations on immigration-related issues.

  • Guide and prepare clients and witnesses for court appearances and USCIS interviews.

  • Stay informed about evolving immigration laws, policies, and legal precedents to enhance advocacy efforts.

Requirements:

  • 0-3 years of experience in immigration law.

  • Strong ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to manage a caseload and meet deadlines effectively.

  • Passion for immigration law and a commitment to serving clients with professionalism and compassion.

  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred but not required.

  • Familiarity with case management software is a plus.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the United States, with good standing in a state bar.

Skills:

  • Strong research, writing, and analytical abilities.

  • Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.

  • Strong advocacy and negotiation skills.

  • Knowledge of USCIS applications, EOIR proceedings, and humanitarian relief options.
