Job Overview

A law firm is seeking a dedicated and skilled Mid-Level Derivatives Associate Attorney to join their team in Charlotte, NC. The ideal candidate will have over 2+ years of derivatives experience from a financial institution or a law firm. This role requires someone who can draft documents for complex structures, manage client relationships, and independently move transactions forward.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Draft and review documentation for complex derivative transactions.
  • Collaborate with clients to structure bespoke derivatives transactions.
  • Provide legal advice and support on derivatives and related financial products.
  • Manage and maintain client relationships effectively.
  • Independently handle and move forward transactions from inception to closing.
  • Stay updated on relevant legal and regulatory changes impacting derivatives.
  • Work closely with other legal and business teams to ensure compliance and address legal issues.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in derivatives at a financial institution or law firm.
  • Proven experience drafting documents for complex structures.
  • Strong understanding of derivatives and financial products.
  • Ability to manage client relationships and move transactions forward independently.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.

Education and Certifications

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the North Carolina Bar.
