Job Overview:
A growing law firm is seeking an entrepreneurial Associate Attorney to help build and grow a practice in an underrepresented geographic area or practice area. Location:

  • Cadiz, Ohio

Duties:

  • Represent clients in a specific geographical area or practice area with the support of a multi-faceted team.
  • Successfully project the value of legal services, estimate fees, and create matter budgets.
  • Effectively communicate the financial obligations of engaging the firm’s services with clients.
  • For litigators, maintain a schedule of court appearances, hearings, trials, and client conferences.
  • Manage legal matters with a paralegal team, ensuring thorough documentation and strategic planning.
  • Pursue favorable outcomes for clients through settlement, mediation, and litigation as necessary.
  • Work with multi-disciplinary professionals, such as CPAs, social workers, and mental health experts, to advance client matters.
  • Engage in networking, marketing, and community involvement to develop the firm’s litigation and transactional practices.

Requirements:

  • JD and admission to the Ohio Bar (required).
  • Minimum 3-5 years of litigation experience.
  • Proven track record of network building and business development.
  • Strong leadership and task management skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently under high stress and manage a legal practice effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Tech-savvy and comfortable using case management systems and remote collaboration tools.
  • Ability to travel occasionally for hearings and trials.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the Ohio State Bar.
