Litigation Attorney (Associate)

A law firm seeks an associate attorney with a passion for litigation to join its team in Philadelphia, PA. This full-time, hybrid role offers an exciting opportunity for someone with up to 5 years of experience in general liability, professional liability, healthcare, or labor and employment law. The position provides exposure to a diverse set of legal matters, along with mentorship from experienced attorneys. Duties:

• Represent clients through all phases of litigation, from case initiation to expert discovery, with a primary focus on general liability matters.
• Attend court appearances, hearings, depositions, and case management conferences.
• Conduct legal research and investigations related to discovery.
• Draft various legal documents, including discovery requests and responses, motions, case summaries, court orders, settlement agreements, affidavits, pleadings, and legal memoranda.
• Review discovery responses and depositions, preparing litigation summaries and status reports.
• Engage in settlement negotiations with opposing counsel to resolve disputes.
• Communicate regularly with clients, providing legal advice, analysis, and updates on the status of cases.

Requirements:

• 0-5 years of litigation experience, with a focus on general liability, professional liability, healthcare, or labor and employment law preferred.
• Must be licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania.
• Strong experience in drafting discovery documents, leading depositions, and arguing motions.
• Excellent written and organizational skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Proficient in Lexis legal research software.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active bar membership in Pennsylvania.
