Job Overview: A leading law firm is seeking a Mergers & Acquisitions Associate with 6-8 years of experience to work on high-profile transactions in the technology and life sciences industries. This role involves handling both public and private company mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions. The ideal candidate will lead M&A teams, supervise junior associates, and manage the entire transaction process, including drafting agreements and negotiating with counterparties.

Duties:

  • Lead M&A transactions, including public and private company deals
  • Draft and negotiate definitive transaction agreements
  • Oversee and supervise junior M&A associates
  • Coordinate with subject matter experts in relevant areas
  • Manage client relationships throughout the transaction process
  • Lead negotiations with transaction counterparties
  • Ensure successful execution of all aspects of M&A deals

Requirements:

  • 6-8 years of experience in mergers and acquisitions or strategic transactions
  • Experience serving as a lead associate on M&A transactions
  • Strong track record in drafting and negotiating transaction agreements
  • Proven ability to manage teams and oversee junior associates
  • Expertise in client management and leading negotiations

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the Bar of the state where the candidate will be based (New York, California, or Washington) or eligibility for admission
