Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking a dedicated Associate Attorney with experience or an interest in construction defect litigation to join their team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on various construction claims and litigation, representing owners, general contractors, and subcontractors. This role provides hands-on experience in all stages of litigation, from pre-litigation through trial and/or arbitration, offering an excellent growth opportunity within a small but dynamic team. The position offers hybrid work flexibility and the chance to develop expertise in construction defect law.

Location:

Duties:

  • Draft legal documents and correspondence to clients on a regular schedule.
  • Interview clients, witnesses, and other relevant parties.
  • Draft written discovery requests and responses.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis related to construction defect litigation.
  • Summarize witness testimony, details from court hearings, and legal proceedings.
  • Prepare legal briefs, motions, and other court filings.
  • Attend mediations, settlement conferences, court hearings, and trials.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on case strategies and legal tactics.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, keeping them informed about case progress.

Requirements:

  • Strong writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage time, tasks, and deadlines efficiently.
  • Demonstrated interest in construction defect litigation.
  • Professional demeanor and ability to interact well with clients and colleagues.
  • Willingness to take on varied tasks and responsibilities in a collaborative environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • California Bar license (required).

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with construction defect law (preferred).
