Job Overview:

A well-established law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its Orphan's Court Litigation team. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a skilled attorney to specialize in Trusts & Estates matters, including contested estates, guardianship proceedings, and trust administration. The Associate Attorney will work closely with clients and partners, preparing legal documents, attending court hearings, and managing litigation cases to deliver effective legal solutions.

Location:

  • Fort Washington, PA

Duties:

  • Represent clients in Orphan's Court matters, including contested estates, guardianship proceedings, and trust administration.
  • Prepare legal documents such as petitions, motions, and briefs for Orphan's Court proceedings.
  • Provide legal counsel on Trusts & Estates issues, including drafting and reviewing wills, trusts, and estate plans.
  • Collaborate with partners and clients to develop legal strategies.
  • Attend court hearings and trials, and handle depositions as necessary.
  • Manage discovery, motion practice, and settlement negotiations.
  • Ensure each case is thoroughly prepared and pursued effectively.
  • Maintain strong communication with team members and clients, managing multiple matters simultaneously.

Requirements:

  • Active license in good standing to practice law in Pennsylvania (admission to other State Bars is a plus).
  • 2-3 years of experience as an attorney in Pennsylvania.
  • Strong writing, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Comprehensive litigation experience, both in and out of the courtroom.
  • Solid understanding of Trusts & Estates administration practices.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Reliable commuting to Fort Washington, PA, and Pennsylvania Courts.
  • Desire for courtroom experience.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the Pennsylvania State Bar (additional bar memberships a plus).

Skills:

  • Strong legal writing and communication skills.
  • Excellent presentation and advocacy abilities in the courtroom.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Trusts & Estates law.
  • Skilled in case management, legal research, and discovery procedures.
