A law firm seeks a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join its team in Cheektowaga, NY. The ideal candidate will have experience handling civil, estate, estate planning, vehicle and traffic, landlord/tenant, and other general civil matters. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the protection of clients' interests, simplify complex legal challenges, and achieve effective resolutions across a variety of legal disciplines.

Duties

  • Manage a diverse caseload, including civil, estate, vehicle and traffic, landlord/tenant, and estate planning matters.
  • Provide legal counsel to clients, addressing their legal needs and working towards favorable outcomes.
  • Draft, review, and file legal documents including pleadings, motions, and contracts.
  • Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, and court proceedings when necessary.
  • Maintain communication with clients, providing updates on case progress and responding to inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Work collaboratively with other attorneys and staff to ensure effective case management.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the New York State Bar and in good standing.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload and work under tight deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience in civil, estate, and traffic law preferred.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in the New York State Bar.
