Job Overview
A reputable consumer collections law firm is seeking a Supervising Attorney with 8-10 years of civil litigation experience to join its team in Salem, NH. The ideal candidate will take on a supervisory role, overseeing and managing a team of litigators and courtroom lawyers while ensuring compliance with client performance guidelines. This is a full-time, on-site position offering an opportunity to transition from trial-focused work into a leadership and management role. The Supervising Attorney will be responsible for the efficiency and organization of the team, ensuring adherence to litigation processes, and collaborating with various departments to maintain the firm’s high performance standards.

Duties

  • Supervise and manage a team of litigators and courtroom attorneys
  • Ensure compliance with client performance guidelines and litigation processes
  • Communicate client-specific guidelines to the legal team and ensure their implementation
  • Review and oversee the production of pleadings and legal documents
  • Collaborate with other departments (e.g., pleadings production) to answer questions and ensure compliance
  • Work with IT to update and draft legal documents, as necessary
  • Monitor litigation pipeline and manage the quality and consistency of case handling
  • Conduct regular performance audits to ensure adherence to client expectations and law firm standards
  • Report to the firm’s Operations Director and the firm’s owner
  • Maintain a focus on detail, accuracy, and efficiency in managing litigation processes
  • Provide support and guidance to the legal team, fostering continuous improvement and training

Requirements

  • 8-10 years of experience in civil litigation
  • Strong background in managing and supervising legal teams
  • Extensive experience in litigating and trying civil cases
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage complex processes
  • Familiarity with client performance guidelines in collections litigation
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with legal staff and non-attorney departments
  • Must be computer-savvy and proficient in Excel
  • Willingness to work long hours when necessary to meet performance goals

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active Bar membership in the applicable state(s)
