Mid-level Copyright Litigation Associate Attorney

A law firm seeks a skilled and motivated mid-level Copyright Litigation Associate Attorney to join its New York City office. The ideal candidate will have 4-6 years of experience in intellectual property law, particularly in copyright litigation, and a solid understanding of the intersection between technology and copyright law. Duties:

• Manage complex copyright litigation cases, especially those involving technology and digital platforms.
• Draft, review, and file legal documents such as motions, pleadings, and legal memoranda.
• Represent clients in court, hearings, depositions, and settlement discussions.
• Conduct legal research and provide expert analysis on copyright law and its relationship with emerging technologies.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and teams to develop case strategies and litigation plans.
• Advise clients on legal issues related to copyright law, technology, and digital content.
• Maintain regular communication with clients, providing updates and addressing legal concerns.

Requirements:

• 4-6 years of law firm experience in intellectual property and copyright litigation.
• Strong understanding of how technology intersects with copyright law.
• A formal technical background (e.g., computer science, engineering) is preferred, but not required.
• Excellent academic credentials with a track record of handling complex litigation.
• Strong research, analytical, writing, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple cases efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Admission to the state bar in which the attorney practices (New York preferred).

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active membership in the New York State Bar (or eligibility to practice in New York).
• Additional bar memberships in other jurisdictions are a plus.
