The ideal candidate will be proficient in drafting and arguing motions, taking and defending depositions, and handling written discovery in both state and federal courts. Experience with e-discovery and familiarity with various federal and state regulations is beneficial. Strong organizational, research, writing, and advocacy skills are essential for success in this role.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Draft and argue motions in both state and federal courts.
  • Take and defend depositions, ensuring comprehensive and accurate documentation.
  • Propound and respond to written discovery requests, managing the discovery process effectively.
  • Conduct mediations and negotiations in both state and federal courts.
  • Handle all phases of e-discovery, including negotiating ESI/protocols and protective orders.
  • Prepare and manage discovery motions related to e-discovery.
  • Work with regulations including (R)FDCPA, FCRA, TCPA, UCC, EFTA, TILA, and UDAP.
  • Prioritize and handle urgent tasks and requests with high competence and accuracy.
  • Maintain strong organizational skills to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic and high level of professional competence.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice law in California.
  • 3-6 years of legal experience, preferably with a focus on financial services litigation.
  • Proven experience with drafting and arguing motions, depositions, and written discovery.
  • Familiarity with e-discovery processes and related regulations.
  • Excellent academic credentials and a strong work ethic.

  • Strong oral advocacy and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and requests effectively.
