Complex Construction Litigation Special Counsel

Job Overview: A law firm in Jacksonville, FL, is seeking a skilled Complex Construction Litigation Special Counsel to handle multi-party litigation involving construction defect matters. The ideal candidate will demonstrate substantial autonomy and proficiency in navigating complex legal issues related to construction litigation.

Duties:

• Manage and lead multi-party litigation related to construction defect matters.
• Conduct thorough legal research and draft high-quality legal documents, including dispositive motions and briefs.
• Conducted and defended depositions and represented clients in trials or evidentiary hearings.
• Advise clients on insurance risk transfer issues for property damage claims.
• Provide strategic guidance and support to junior associates and paralegals working on assigned cases.

Requirements:

• Minimum 6 years of litigation experience, with significant experience in construction litigation.
• Strong oratory, research, and writing skills.
• Demonstrated experience in courtroom advocacy and arbitration.
• Knowledge of insurance risk transfer issues related to property damage claims.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• JD degree from an ABA-approved law school.
• Active member in good standing of the Florida Bar.

Preferred:

• Board Certification in Construction Law by the Florida Bar.
