Job Overview:
A Milwaukee-based law firm is currently seeking a motivated Associate Attorney to join its practice, focusing on bankruptcy and federal consumer law matters. Location:

  • Milwaukee, WI

Duties:

  • Handle Chapter 7 bankruptcy cases from intake to resolution

  • Prepare and file bankruptcy petitions, schedules, and financial disclosures

  • Attend 341 meetings and other bankruptcy-related hearings

  • Draft pleadings and legal memoranda

  • Provide exceptional client service and communication throughout each case

  • Maintain and update case progress through the firm’s case management system

  • Coordinate with internal legal and administrative staff for efficient case handling

Requirements:

  • Active license to practice law in the State of Wisconsin

  • Admission to the Eastern and Western Districts of Wisconsin (federal courts)

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills

  • Comfortable working with high caseloads in a structured environment

  • Demonstrated ability to manage client expectations and deadlines

  • Strong conflict resolution and interpersonal communication skills

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Wisconsin State Bar in good standing

  • Federal court admission in the Eastern and Western Districts of Wisconsin

Skills:

  • Strong legal research and writing abilities

  • Familiarity with bankruptcy procedures and filings

  • Experience with legal case management systems

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant legal software

  • Spanish language proficiency is a plus

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively
