Job Overview

A leading law firm in estate planning, probate, and trust administration seeks a dedicated Entry-Level Estate Planning Attorney to support clients with compassionate and client-focused legal services. This role will involve designing estate plans, collaborating with a supportive team, and actively engaging in community-based initiatives.

Duties

  • Client Consultations: Conduct initial consultations with clients, setting clear expectations and guiding them through the estate planning process.
  • Estate Plan Design & Drafting: Create customized estate plans, including wills, trusts, healthcare proxies, and guardianship designations, using industry-standard software.
  • Client Communication: Maintain ongoing communication with clients, addressing questions, providing updates, and ensuring a seamless, supportive experience.
  • Utilization of Technology: Use virtual meeting platforms, client management software, and digital tools for efficient client interaction and record management.
  • Collaboration with Staff: Coordinate with support staff to ensure smooth workflows, accurate documentation, and high client satisfaction.
  • Probate & Trust Administration: Assist with probate and trust cases, managing timelines, working with real estate agents, and explaining legal processes to clients.
  • Problem Solving & Initiative: Approach challenges proactively, using creativity and resilience to meet client needs and improve processes.

Requirements

  • Experience: 1-2 years in legal roles, ideally within estate planning or probate; familiarity with Massachusetts probate and estate tax laws is a plus.
  • Tech Proficiency: Familiarity with WealthCounsel or similar drafting software, Zoho CRM, Zoom, Google Calendar, and Microsoft Office.
  • Client-Focused: Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to address emotional and complex issues empathetically.
  • Growth-Oriented: A proactive attitude toward professional development and a willingness to learn.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong time management, prioritization, and attention to detail.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to articulate complex legal concepts clearly to clients and team members.
  • Availability: Able to present at community workshops and webinars three evenings per month.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD): Required.

Certifications

  • Bar Admission: Licensed to practice law in Massachusetts, with consideration for candidates intending to sit for the Bar exam shortly.
