Labor And Employment Associate Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm in Philadelphia, PA, seeks a skilled and experienced Labor and Employment Associate Attorney. The ideal candidate will bring 4-10 years of private and public employment litigation expertise. This role requires proficiency in providing employment law advice and counseling, handling labor disputes, and managing labor negotiations and arbitration, particularly within the context of Act 111. Experience in state or federal courts in Pennsylvania or New Jersey, as well as practice before the EEOC, NLRB, or similar state agencies, is highly valued.

Duties:

• Represent clients in employment-related litigation, including private and public sector disputes.
• Provide expert legal advice and counseling on employment law issues to clients.
• Manage and resolve labor disputes through negotiation, mediation, and arbitration, focusing on Act 111.
• Handle cases before state and federal courts and regulatory agencies such as the EEOC and NLRB.
• Draft, review, and negotiate employment contracts, settlement agreements, and other legal documents.
• Conduct thorough legal research and prepare detailed legal briefs and memoranda.
• Stay updated on changes in employment law and legal precedents to provide informed advice and representation.
• Collaborate with other attorneys and support staff to effectively manage caseloads and achieve favorable client outcomes.

Requirements:

• 4-10 years of experience in employment litigation and related legal fields.
• Proven track record in handling employment law advice, labor disputes, and arbitration.
• Experience in labor negotiations, particularly with Act 111, is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with the practices and procedures of state and federal courts in Pennsylvania or New Jersey.
• Previous experience practicing before the EEOC, NLRB, or similar employment law enforcement agencies.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the Bar in Pennsylvania or New Jersey (or eligibility for reciprocity).
