Job Overview: A law firm in Los Angeles, CA, is seeking a dedicated Litigation / Transactional Associate Attorney to provide comprehensive legal support to clients in both litigation and transactional matters. The ideal candidate will collaborate with senior attorneys, conduct legal research, draft legal documents, and represent clients in various legal proceedings.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis on complex legal issues.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, contracts, and other legal documents.
  • Represent clients in court hearings, depositions, and mediations.
  • Participate in settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution processes.
  • Stay updated with developments in relevant practice areas and ensure compliance with legal standards.
  • Assist in business development activities and client acquisition efforts.
  • Prepare for and attend hearings, including law and motion practice.
  • Review client documents and prepare discovery productions.
  • Propound and respond to written discovery requests.
  • Review, revise, and negotiate contract terms.
  • Prepare witness outlines for deposition or trial testimony.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop case strategies and tactics.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the State Bar of California in good standing.
  • 1-3 years of experience in general litigation and transactional law.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in drafting legal documents, including pleadings and motions.
  • Familiarity with motions for preliminary and final approval.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in legal writing and proofreading.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
