A law firm seeks an experienced Senior Immigration Attorney to join a reputable team in Phoenix, AZ. As a Senior Immigration Attorney, you will manage a diverse caseload, guide clients through complex legal matters, and collaborate with a dynamic team of professionals. Duties:

  • Provide expert legal advice to clients on a variety of immigration issues, including family-based petitions, removal defense, and humanitarian applications.
  • Represent clients in immigration court, handling both detained and non-detained cases, and appear before the Board of Immigration Appeals as necessary.
  • Manage a caseload efficiently, ensuring deadlines and procedural requirements are met.
  • Conduct client consultations, including intake interviews with detained individuals at immigration detention centers.
  • Prepare and submit a wide range of immigration petitions, applications, and other legal documents.
  • Review immigration applications and documents, making necessary revisions to ensure accuracy and compliance with the law.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutors, and community organizations to stay informed about ongoing changes in immigration law and policy.
  • Develop legal strategies tailored to clients’ unique cases, preparing them and their witnesses for hearings, court appearances, and USCIS interviews.
  • Draft and submit legal briefs and motions for a variety of immigration-related matters.
  • Analyze cases to determine potential benefits or risks for clients, offering strategic advice to achieve favorable outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • 5-8 years of experience practicing immigration law.
  • Strong ability to manage a diverse caseload and work under pressure.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred but not required.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, colleagues, and external partners.
  • Proven track record of moving cases forward and managing complex immigration matters.
  • Experience in handling family-based petitions, humanitarian relief cases, EOIR matters, detained cases, citizenship applications, and other USCIS petitions.
  • Familiarity with case management software and tools used to streamline case handling is a plus.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the State Bar of Arizona (or eligibility to practice in Arizona).

Skills:

  • Advanced knowledge of U.S. immigration law and regulations.
  • Strong writing and research skills to prepare legal briefs, motions, and other documents.
  • Ability to represent clients effectively in legal proceedings and advocate for their rights.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills for handling multiple cases and deadlines.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and mentor junior attorneys or legal assistants.
