A law firm in Portland is seeking an Associate Attorney to join their team, specializing in residential real estate litigation, mortgage, and transactional matters. The candidate will manage cases from inception to completion, ensuring the protection of client interests in litigation proceedings and general collection cases.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload focused on residential real estate litigation, mortgage, and transactional matters.
  • Handle cases from start to finish, including case analysis, strategy development, and client advisement.
  • Draft court pleadings and defend against motions related to litigation cases.
  • Attend court hearings, both telephonic and in person, representing client interests.
  • Undertake additional duties and special projects as required by the firm.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice law in the state of Oregon.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in the practice of law, preferably in litigation, real estate, or mortgage law.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret client systems and effectively communicate legal strategies.
  • Proficiency in software tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and internet research.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize large caseloads.
  • Effective problem-solving abilities.
