Job Overview: A prominent law firm is seeking a highly skilled Finance Associate or Senior Associate to join its Washington, DC office. The ideal candidate will possess 4-8 years of experience in representing lenders, private equity, and corporate borrowers in a variety of financing transactions. The role will involve working on commercial bank loans, alternative/private credit lender loans, institutional term loans, and other debt financing matters. Location:

Duties:

  • Represent lenders, private equity firms, and corporate borrowers in commercial bank loans, alternative/private credit lender loans, institutional term loans, and other debt financing transactions.
  • Provide legal advice on complex financial structures and transactions.
  • Draft and negotiate loan documentation, credit agreements, and related contracts.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support transactional work.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and clients to manage deal flow and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Assist in the development of legal strategies for clients’ financing needs.

Requirements:

  • 4-8 years of relevant experience (2017-2021).
  • Experience in debt financing transactions, including loans and credit agreements.
  • Strong understanding of commercial and corporate finance practices.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle complex legal matters and work independently.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Washington, DC (or eligibility to become licensed).

Skills:

  • Expertise in debt financing, commercial loans, and credit agreements.
  • Ability to draft, review, and negotiate complex legal documents.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communicator with both legal and non-legal stakeholders.
