Job Overview:
A law firm seeks an experienced Litigation Attorney with a strong background in construction defect and/or general liability/personal injury cases to join its Newport Beach office. This role requires a minimum of five years of litigation experience, including depositions, court appearances, mediations, and motion practice. Ideal candidates will have advanced analytical skills, strong communication abilities, and the capability to establish rapport with clients. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Advise clients on legal best practices and deliver strategic legal support throughout case proceedings.
  • Draft, review, and administer a variety of legal documents, including contracts, motions, and memoranda.
  • Coordinate and compile trial briefs in collaboration with the legal team.
  • Oversee discovery processes, reviewing documents, and determining strategic courses of action.
  • Attend hearings, court appearances, and case-related conferences on a regular schedule.
  • Represent clients during trials, hearings, and mediations, and facilitate the depositions of expert witnesses and case witnesses.
  • Conduct legal research, interpret laws and rulings, and identify potential legal risks.
  • Maintain client communication, provided regular case updates, and managed client relationships.
  • Manage the complete lifecycle of case files, from initiation through to closure.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of five years of experience in litigation, particularly in construction defect, general liability, or personal injury.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active California Bar License.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in persuasion and negotiation.
  • Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a professional attitude and strong ethical standards.
  • Familiarity with legal technology and case management tools.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Current license to practice law in California.

Skills:

  • Advanced litigation skills, including deposition and motion practice.
