A prominent, multi-state real estate and creditors' rights law firm is seeking a qualified Associate Attorney to support its Illinois practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing a significant caseload in creditors' rights, litigation, and real estate law. This role involves resolving complex legal issues, handling court appearances, and contributing to the growth and reputation of the firm. Location:

Duties:

  • Handle a significant caseload within creditors' rights and real estate law
  • Manage discovery practices, depositions, and conflict resolution for clients
  • Represent clients in court and litigation processes
  • Contribute to appellate work, including research, brief preparation, and case strategy
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Assist in the growth and reputation of the firm within the legal community
  • Participate in business development and client outreach efforts
  • Travel to court appearances and client meetings as needed

Requirements:

  • Active member in good standing of the Illinois State Bar
  • Newly licensed attorneys may apply, but 5+ years of litigation experience preferred
  • Experience managing a high volume of cases, especially in creditors' rights
  • Familiarity with discovery practices, depositions, and conflict resolution
  • Appellate experience and knowledge of TILA, RESPA, FDCPA, and the Bankruptcy Code preferred
  • Strong leadership skills with a focus on teamwork and mentoring
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Strong judgment and commitment to providing superior client support
  • Court appearances and some travel required

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the Illinois State Bar (required)
  • Additional Bar licenses are a plus
