Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm is seeking an experienced Toxic Tort Associate Attorney to join its asbestos practice group. The role is available at multiple California office locations, including Irvine, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Walnut Creek. The ideal candidate will have experience in toxic tort, complex litigation, and environmental liability, and will handle a diverse caseload in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Location:

  • Los Angeles, CA

Duties:

  • Handle local and national accounts throughout California.
  • Independently manage a litigation caseload with responsibility for all stages of case preparation and management.
  • Conduct depositions and prepare witnesses for deposition and trial.
  • Review, analyze, and respond to discovery requests and pleadings.
  • Prepare court filings and ensure service to counsel, including experience with e-filing.
  • Provide trial preparation and support.
  • Maintain accurate time records for billing purposes.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in complex litigation, toxic tort liability, or environmental liability.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Must be admitted to practice in the state of California.
  • Experience with motion practice and taking lead in plaintiff and expert depositions.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently manage a caseload.
  • Strong research and writing skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex legal matters and think critically.
  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the California State Bar.

Skills:

  • Superior research and writing skills.
  • Experience in motion practice and depositions.
  • Strong ability to manage complex cases.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
