Job Overview:
A prominent law firm is seeking an experienced Labor & Employment Associate Attorney to join their dynamic team in Albany, NY. This role will focus on a wide variety of labor and employment matters, representing both public and private employers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in litigation, along with the ability to provide strategic advice on employment-related issues, including disciplinary actions, terminations, and compliance with state and federal laws.

Duties:

• Represent employers in legal proceedings related to labor, employment, and education laws.
• Handle cases involving disciplinary actions, terminations, and defense against discrimination claims.
• Conduct internal investigations for clients, ensuring compliance with applicable labor laws.
• Draft and review employment agreements, separation agreements, and severance packages.
• Advise clients on state and federal employment laws and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with other practice groups to deliver comprehensive legal solutions to clients.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Minimum 3-8 years of experience in labor and employment law, particularly litigation.
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to work effectively with other attorneys and across practice areas.

Education:

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admitted to practice in New York (additional State Bar memberships are a plus).
