Job Overview: A law firm seeks a skilled Associate Immigration Attorney to join its team in Farmington Hills, MI. Duties:

  • Represent clients in Immigration Court, including attending individual hearings.
  • Handle client interviews and interactions at USCIS, ICE, and other relevant agencies.
  • Conduct jail visits and prepare clients for hearings and interviews.
  • Review and manage applications for various immigration benefits.
  • Draft legal motions, briefs, and supporting documents as needed.
  • Communicate with clients throughout the legal process, ensuring clarity and transparency.
  • Maintain accurate case notes and updates in a web-based case management system.
  • Collaborate with legal teams and support staff to meet case deadlines.
  • Perform additional tasks as required to support legal operations.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in immigration law or related legal practice.
  • Strong organizational and attention to detail skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain legal concepts clearly to clients.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work efficiently in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Proficiency in using web-based case management systems.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active bar membership in good standing.

Skills:

  • Bilingual communication skills, with fluency in Spanish, preferred.
  • Strong advocacy and legal writing skills.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize a diverse caseload.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively engage with clients and legal colleagues.
