A law firm seeks a detail-oriented and motivated Immigration Attorney to focus on legal analysis and case review. This role involves assessing client files obtained through Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests to identify potential relief options. The attorney will play a critical role in determining case strategies, handling a high-volume caseload, and collaborating with a team of experienced legal professionals. Duties

  • Conduct in-depth legal reviews of client immigration files obtained via FOIA requests.
  • Analyze immigration histories to identify potential relief options and next steps for case strategies.
  • Screen client documentation to evaluate eligibility for immigration benefits or other legal solutions.
  • Work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while meeting deadlines.
  • Provide clear and well-documented recommendations for case strategies and legal actions.
  • Stay informed of evolving immigration laws, policies, and regulatory changes relevant to the firm’s practice areas.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and legal assistants to ensure accurate and timely file processing.
  • Prepare detailed reports of findings for internal teams and client communications.

Requirements

  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 3–5 years of professional experience practicing immigration law.
    • Experience in family-based petitions, asylum, removal defense, and other areas of immigration law.
  • Skills:
    • Strong legal research and analytical capabilities for reviewing complex documents and histories.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for client interactions and internal reporting.
    • Proven ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines in a high-volume setting.
    • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred but not required.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in good standing with the Bar of any U.S. jurisdiction.
