Job Overview:
A dynamic and rapidly growing personal injury law firm is seeking an experienced Personal Injury Trial Attorney to manage a high-volume caseload, handle depositions, motions, mediations, and serve as lead counsel in jury trials. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in personal injury or civil litigation, with a preference for those who have extensive jury trial experience. Location:

  • Louisville, KY

Duties:

  • Manage a caseload of approximately 150 cases, with around 50 cases actively in litigation each month
  • Communicate proactively with clients, keeping them informed throughout the legal process
  • Conduct depositions, draft and respond to motions, lead mediations, and develop case strategies
  • Serve as lead counsel in jury trials, advocating for favorable outcomes
  • Collaborate with case managers, paralegals, and support staff to ensure efficient case handling
  • Utilize proprietary software and resources to streamline practice and enhance efficiency
  • Work closely with the firm’s medical records department to expedite medical record retrieval

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in personal injury or civil litigation (5-8 years preferred)
  • Experience on the plaintiff side of civil litigation is preferred
  • At least 5 first-chair trial verdicts required; 10+ first-chair jury verdicts preferred
  • Active license to practice law in good standing with the local State Bar
  • Multiple state bar admissions preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure and Rules of Evidence
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate case strategies effectively
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage a high-volume caseload

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the State Bar(s) in which licensed to practice
