A law firm seeks an experienced Workers' Compensation Attorney to join their team in the United States. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience handling workers' compensation cases, with a deep understanding of the New York Workers' Compensation Board (WCB) processes. This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to work with a dedicated team, representing clients throughout the workers' compensation process, from initial filings to hearings and depositions.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in workers' compensation cases before the Workers' Compensation Board (WCB).
  • Handle depositions and case-related hearings, ensuring client interests are effectively presented.
  • Collaborate with paralegals and other team members to gather, file, and track case documentation.
  • Guide clients through the workers' compensation process, providing clear and timely updates.
  • Draft necessary legal documents, such as petitions, motions, and appeals, related to workers' compensation claims.
  • Stay informed on changes in New York workers' compensation law and regulations.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in workers' compensation law.
  • Proven experience with WCB hearings and deposition procedures.
  • Familiarity with the New York Workers' Compensation process from start to finish.
  • Ability to work effectively with support staff, including paralegals.
  • Strong client communication and interpersonal skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in New York State.

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of New York workers' compensation law.
  • Strong legal research, drafting, and writing skills.
  • Excellent oral advocacy skills for hearings and depositions.
