Litigation Attorney

Job Overview
A well-established law firm based in West Palm Beach, Florida, is seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney to handle high-value personal injury cases in both state and federal courts. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing cases from start to finish, including pre-trial preparation, court appearances, motions, depositions, mediations, negotiations, and trial. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with a proven track record in personal injury litigation and a passion for representing clients in the courtroom.

Duties

• Meet with clients to discuss case details and file lawsuits.
• Propound and respond to written discovery requests.
• Schedule and attend fact witness depositions.
• Retain and manage expert witnesses, attending expert depositions as needed.
• Schedule and attend hearings, including pre-trial motions and other court appearances.
• Prepare cases for trial, including organizing evidence and developing case strategies.
• Attend and represent clients in mediations, striving for favorable settlements.
• Try cases to verdict, presenting evidence and arguments in court.
• Prepare and file appropriate post-trial motions.
• Participate in regular file audits, litigation attorney meetings, and trial clinics.

Requirements

• Active license in good standing to practice law in Florida.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Personal Injury Litigator.
• Proven track record of success in litigation, including at least 2 jury trials as first chair.
• Ability to manage a large caseload from initial filing through to verdict.
• Experience in providing direction and guidance to a team of support staff.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate legal arguments.
• Excellent negotiation skills and a keen ability to advocate for clients.
• Strong analytical, research, and case preparation skills.
• A strong courtroom presence with an eagerness to try cases.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active membership in the Florida Bar, in good standing.
