Tax Associate Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm in Indianapolis, IN, is seeking a skilled Tax Associate Attorney with a strong background in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) tax law. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in tax law, specifically in M&A transactions, and possess an LL.M. in Taxation.

Duties:

• Conduct thorough legal research and analysis related to tax implications of M&A transactions.
• Draft and review transactional documents, including acquisition agreements, tax indemnity agreements, and tax opinions.
• Provide strategic tax advice to clients involved in M&A activities.
• Assist in due diligence investigations concerning tax matters.
• Collaborate with other attorneys and tax professionals on complex tax issues.

Requirements:

• Minimum 4 years of experience practicing tax law, focusing on mergers and acquisitions.
• Experience gained from an AmLaw 200 tax group, federal Tax M&A group, or Big 4 Accounting firm preferred.
• LL.M. in Taxation from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Indiana State Bar or eligibility for admission through reciprocity.

Certifications (Preferred):

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or similar tax certifications.
