Investment Management Associate Attorney

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney specializing in investment management to join its team in Portland, OR. This position requires three to six years of experience advising institutional investors on both traditional and alternative investment transactions. The role involves providing strategic guidance and hands-on legal support for a range of clients, including pension funds, high-net-worth individuals, endowments, universities, and insurance providers, in a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.

Duties

• Advise clients on a broad array of investment transactions, including alternative investment structures.
• Collaborate with other legal practice areas to ensure well-rounded, effective client services.
• Review, draft, and manage complex transaction documentation with attention to accuracy and detail.
• Engage in negotiations and client communications to facilitate seamless transaction processes.
• Oversee multiple client projects, maintaining organization and responsiveness.
• Participate in the firm's pro bono initiatives and community-focused legal work.

Requirements

• Experience: 3-6 years in investment management, fund formation, or a related legal practice area.
• Licensing: JD from an ABA-accredited law school; active law license.
• Skills: Strong analytical and document review skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
• Communication: Excellent client-service orientation with strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
• Teamwork: Comfortable working as part of a diverse team and independently when needed.
• Project Management: Ability to handle multiple, concurrent responsibilities efficiently.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active law license, eligible to practice in Oregon.
