A law firm in Los Angeles, CA, is seeking a qualified Lateral Antitrust Associate Attorney with expertise in analyzing transactions for competition issues and navigating merger control filing requirements, particularly pertaining to the Hart-Scott-Rodino (“HSR”) Act and its implementing Rules. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in substantive analysis, procedural matters, and filing logistics related to HSR compliance. Experience in antitrust advocacy before the Department of Justice (DOJ) and Federal Trade Commission (FTC), as well as familiarity with technology, life sciences, and private equity transactions, are advantageous.

 

Duties:

  • Conduct comprehensive analysis of transactions for competition issues and merger control filing requirements.
  • Provide guidance on HSR compliance, including substantive analysis, procedural matters, and filing logistics.
  • Advocate on behalf of clients in antitrust matters before the DOJ and FTC.
  • Handle antitrust issues within technology, life sciences, and private equity transactions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and clients to develop effective legal strategies.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Relevant Bar admission in California or eligibility to promptly obtain admission.
  • Demonstrated experience in analyzing transactions for competition issues.
  • Proficiency in navigating the Hart-Scott-Rodino Act and its implementing Rules.
  • Prior experience in antitrust advocacy before regulatory bodies.
  • Familiarity with technology, life sciences, and private equity sectors is desirable.
  • Outstanding academic credentials and comparable law firm experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Relevant Bar admission in California (or eligibility to obtain admission promptly).
