A law firm in Chicago, IL, is seeking a Real Estate Associate Attorney with 3+ years of experience in real estate transactions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various aspects of real estate law, including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, and development. Admission to the Illinois Bar or eligibility for prompt admission is required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients in real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, and lending.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and documents related to real estate transactions.
  • Advise on joint ventures, leasing arrangements, construction, development, and land use matters.
  • Assist clients with entitlements, zoning issues, and compliance with local regulations.
  • Handle low-income housing tax credit transactions and other specialized real estate financing matters.
  • Conduct due diligence and manage risk assessment in real estate deals.
  • Collaborate with clients, opposing counsel, and other professionals to achieve favorable outcomes.
  • Provide legal advice and strategic guidance on complex real estate issues.
  • Manage multiple transactions and projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice law in Illinois or eligibility to seek prompt admission.
  • 3+ years of experience in real estate transactions, including:
    • Acquisitions and dispositions.
    • Lending and joint ventures.
    • Leasing and construction.
    • Development, land use, and entitlements.
    • Low-income housing tax credit transactions (preferred).
  • Strong background in real estate law and transactions.

Education:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) required.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Illinois or eligibility for prompt admission.

Skills:

  • Proven expertise in real estate transactions and legal documentation.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
