Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking a Case Development Intake Attorney to join their team in Austin, TX. This role involves managing the intake and initial development of personal injury cases, working closely with case managers, and handling all aspects of case preparation. Location:

  • Austin, TX

Duties:

  • Manage a docket of approximately 50 cases alongside an assigned case manager.
  • Conduct thorough investigations, including gathering accident reports, property damage photos, and witness statements.
  • Handle property damage claims and assist clients in developing medical damages.
  • Communicate with clients, adjusters, and other relevant parties, ensuring timely updates and case progression.
  • Prepare and submit monthly status reports, and review cases as per firm policy for evaluation purposes.
  • Facilitate client intake, including explaining contracts, securing authorizations, and managing after-hours sign-ups when necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with ethical standards and assist in maximizing case value through effective case management.
  • Prepare demands and negotiate with adjusters to settle cases when appropriate.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree.
  • Licensed to practice law in Texas and in good standing.
  • 0-3 years of experience in personal injury law.
  • Strong commitment to client service and excellent communication skills.
  • Experience in customer service or sales, especially in a client-facing role, is preferred.
  • Valid Texas driver’s license and a good driving record.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Texas Bar license.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in legal research, case management, and intake processes.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication and delegation abilities, with a customer service focus.
  • Ability to motivate and lead support staff to achieve the best results for clients.
