A law firm in Williamsport is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney to join their diverse civil practice. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to engage in a variety of legal work, with a primary focus on civil litigation. The role requires a strong background in litigation, excellent technical and interpersonal skills, and a proactive approach to handling writing and research assignments, as well as participating in depositions, court hearings, and client meetings.

Duties:

  • Engage in a broad range of legal tasks within the firm’s general practice, with a focus on civil litigation.
  • Draft and prepare legal documents, including motions, briefs, and pleadings.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support case development and strategy.
  • Attend and participate in depositions, court hearings, and client meetings.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients to develop case strategies and provide legal counsel.
  • Manage case files and maintain accurate records of case progress.
  • Participate in discovery, including gathering evidence, issuing interrogatories, and reviewing documents.
  • Provide exceptional client service and communicate effectively regarding case status and legal options.

Requirements:

  • Experience in civil litigation or a related field.
  • Excellent technical skills with a strong ability to handle writing and research assignments.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and other professionals.
  • High level of energy and drive to take on challenging legal tasks.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction or eligibility to be admitted.

Skills:

  • Strong litigation experience, including drafting legal documents and conducting legal research.
  • Proficiency in managing case files and attending depositions, court hearings, and client meetings.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
