The firm also provides a generous benefits package, ensuring a supportive and rewarding working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a dual caseload involving securities/FINRA matters and professional liability defense litigation.
  • Represent clients in civil litigation cases, preparing legal documents, conducting discovery, and handling trial preparation.
  • Provide legal counsel and representation in FINRA-related disputes, assisting clients with regulatory compliance, arbitration, and mediation processes.
  • Draft and review complex litigation documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs, ensuring accuracy and alignment with client goals.
  • Conduct legal research, analyze case law, and strategize with senior attorneys to develop strong legal arguments.
  • Participate in settlement negotiations, client meetings, depositions, and court appearances as required.
  • Collaborate with the litigation team to effectively manage case deadlines, filings, and trial schedules.
  • Maintain an annual minimum of 1,900 billable hours, with the opportunity to earn additional compensation for hours exceeding this target.
  • Work in a hybrid schedule, allowing for a balance of in-office collaboration and remote work flexibility.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 1 to 5 years of experience in civil litigation is essential.
  • Prior experience or familiarity with FINRA cases or securities litigation is highly preferred.
  • Must be admitted to the California State Bar and in good standing.
  • Proven ability to manage a high-volume caseload with attention to detail and effective time management.
  • Strong research, writing, and communication skills, with a focus on drafting litigation documents and conducting thorough legal analysis.
  • Prior experience working in professional liability defense cases is advantageous.

Educational Background:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active and current membership with the California State Bar.

Certifications:

  • Ongoing participation in Continuing Legal Education (CLE), especially in litigation, securities law, or FINRA-related topics, is preferred but not required.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong litigation skills, including the ability to handle civil litigation cases from inception through resolution.
  • Effective negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to advocate for clients in court, during mediations, and at FINRA hearings.
  • Proficiency in legal research, with a strong understanding of California civil litigation and professional liability laws.
  • Team-oriented, with a collaborative mindset, but capable of working independently when needed.
  • Ability to meet billable hour targets while balancing client needs and case requirements.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to prioritize competing deadlines.

Benefits:

  • Generous benefits package, including comprehensive health and dental plans, 401(k) retirement plan, and other firm perks.
  • Hybrid working schedule, offering flexibility for both in-office and remote work.
  • Additional compensation for billable hours exceeding the minimum requirement, paid at $50/hour for every billable hour beyond 1,900 hours.
