A law firm seeks a highly motivated Personal Injury Trial Attorney to join its growing team in Lexington, KY. The firm is looking for a dedicated attorney with a passion for advocating on behalf of injured clients. This position requires significant trial experience and the ability to handle a high volume of cases, including taking on lead roles in jury trials. Duties:

  • Manage a high-volume caseload, overseeing approximately 150 cases, with around 50 actively in litigation each month.
  • Ensure proactive and transparent communication with clients, keeping them informed throughout the legal process.
  • Conduct key litigation activities, including depositions, drafting and responding to motions, leading mediations, and developing case strategies.
  • Serve as lead counsel in jury trials, advocating passionately to secure favorable outcomes for clients.
  • Guide each case from intake through settlement or jury verdict, ensuring timely resolution and client satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with a team of legal professionals, including case managers and paralegals, to efficiently manage cases and maintain a high standard of client service.

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of experience in personal injury or civil litigation, with 5-8 years preferred.
  • Experience in either plaintiff or defense-side litigation, with a preference for plaintiff-side experience in civil litigation.
  • Proven trial experience, including at least 5 first-chair trial verdicts (10+ preferred).
  • Strong understanding of the Rules of Civil Procedure and the Rules of Evidence.
  • Excellent communication and client-engagement skills, with the ability to effectively articulate case strategies and manage client expectations.
  • Ability to handle a significant caseload and manage time effectively.
  • Active membership in the local State Bar, with multiple state bar admissions being a plus.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active and in good standing with the local State Bar.
  • Multiple state bar admissions are preferred.

  • Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
  • High level of legal acumen and problem-solving skills.
