Job Overview:
A law firm based in Dallas, TX is looking for a skilled Associate Immigration Attorney to join its team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an attorney with experience in immigration law to grow and develop their career within a reputable legal practice. The position offers hands-on experience in handling a wide variety of immigration cases, including removal defense and family-based petitions, while collaborating closely with a dedicated team of attorneys and legal assistants.

Duties:

  • Provide expert advice on immigration law and present strategic solutions tailored to clients' needs
  • Represent both non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals
  • Manage a caseload, ensuring timely and effective progress of each case
  • Conduct client intakes at detention centers and collaborate on case strategy
  • Prepare a wide range of immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based petitions
  • Review and adjust immigration applications and supporting documents as necessary
  • Liaise with law enforcement, government agencies, and community organizations to stay updated on immigration law changes
  • Lead client consultations, assessing their case needs and determining appropriate legal strategies
  • Develop case strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for court hearings or USCIS interviews
  • Draft and submit legal briefs for various immigration-related matters

Requirements:

  • 1-4 years of experience in immigration law
  • Strong ability to manage a diverse caseload and meet deadlines
  • Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are highly preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a team
  • Proven ability to handle complex cases and drive progress
  • Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian cases, EOIR, Detained cases, Citizenship, and USCIS applications
  • Proficiency with Case Management Software is a plus

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Admitted to practice law in good standing

Certifications:

  • Active State Bar membership (in Texas or eligible for admission)

  • In-depth understanding of immigration law and procedure
  • Exceptional legal research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Strong client management and consultation abilities
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
