A respected law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney with 2-5 years of defense litigation experience to join its Mobile, Alabama office. The ideal candidate will have experience in defense work, particularly in medical malpractice, professional negligence, and/or construction defect claims. Duties

  • Handle a variety of defense litigation matters, including medical malpractice, professional negligence, and construction defect claims
  • Draft and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests
  • Conduct legal research and prepare case strategies
  • Represent clients in depositions, hearings, and trials
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and colleagues
  • Manage case files and provide regular updates to clients
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex cases
  • Participate in settlement negotiations and dispute resolution

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of experience in defense litigation
  • Experience in medical malpractice, professional negligence, and/or construction defect claims (preferred)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple cases efficiently and effectively
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized

Education

  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Active membership in the Alabama State Bar

Certifications

  • Alabama Bar License (required)
