Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a skilled Immigration Attorney to join their team in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. The ideal candidate will have 1-4 years of experience in immigration law and a proven track record of managing cases effectively. This role involves representing clients in immigration proceedings, preparing and reviewing legal documents, and providing strategic legal counsel. Bilingual skills in English and Spanish are preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Explain immigration concepts and present strategic solutions to clients.
  • Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Manage a diverse caseload, including removal defense and family-based immigration petitions.
  • Visit and conduct intakes with detained individuals at detention centers.
  • Prepare and review immigration applications and packets, making necessary adjustments as required.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations to address changes in immigration law.
  • Meet with potential clients for strategic immigration consultations and develop appropriate legal strategies.
  • Develop and prepare clients and witnesses for court and USCIS testimony.
  • Provide legal analysis to determine potential case benefits for clients.
  • Draft and submit legal briefs for a variety of immigration cases.

Requirements:

  • 1-4 years of experience in immigration law.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a caseload effectively.
  • Experience with family-based petitions, humanitarian cases, EOIR proceedings, legal writing, detained cases, citizenship applications, and other USCIS matters.
  • Experience with case management software is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a team-oriented attitude.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the state of California.

Skills:

  • Strong legal research and writing abilities.
  • Proficiency in case management software.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and clients.
  • High level of professionalism and ethical standards.
