Duties:

• Provide legal counsel to clients on their rights and responsibilities in criminal matters.
• Draft legal documents related to cases and attend pretrial hearings to represent clients.
• Advise clients on strategies following hearings and manage subsequent legal actions.
• Handle court appearances, trials, and motions, including interviewing witnesses and conducting legal research.
• Assess case outcomes by applying knowledge of legal precedents and prior rulings.
• Maintain a manageable caseload and provide comprehensive legal analysis to clients.
• Gather additional evidence to strengthen client arguments or challenge prosecution charges.
• Prepare clients for depositions and assist in identifying essential case strategies and expert witnesses.

Requirements:

• Interest in pursuing a career in criminal defense.
• Eagerness to handle complex criminal cases at federal, state, and local levels.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team, offering support and strategic input.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred, but not required.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the State Bar in California.

Certifications:

• Must be licensed to practice law in California.
