Location:

Duties:

  • Assess new cases, develop action plans, and establish case budgets
  • Identify pleading requirements and delegate tasks to support staff (paralegals/legal assistants)
  • Prepare discovery responses and manage document production
  • Attend depositions, hearings, and other discovery events
  • Negotiate settlements and provide strategic guidance for trial preparation
  • Maintain regular communication with paralegals and legal assistants to ensure efficient workflow
  • Work independently and as part of a team to manage multiple tasks and deadlines

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of litigation experience (insurance defense experience preferred)
  • Licensed to practice law in Tennessee
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and staff
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and willingness to learn new software tools
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Tennessee State Bar (required)

Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with litigation procedures and trial preparation
  • Proficient in legal research, discovery responses, and document management
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
